Happiness is based on what happens. Joy comes from knowing the unchanging.

Most people are seeking the next thing to make them happy. Some people acquire wealth, some buy toys, some seek relationships, and some try anything and everything to diminish their perpetual craving for happiness. Often times an apparent happiness success is shattered by an unexpected turn of events. It becomes apparent that happiness is only a happening away from despair.

Quite differently, joy is not dependent upon what happens. Joy is a rock, an immovable, solid foundation that can weather any storm of happenstance. Do not give up when times of trouble come. The wind blows this way and that. Some days I use runway 7, other days 25. The runway is always there. The winds will change. Find the Unchanging. Find Joy.
